Pokemon Black/White Surprises Nobody By Selling Amazingly Well

The Pokemon franchise has a tradition of outdoing itself (and everyone else, for that topic) every time it puts out a new brave, and this was no exception.

Pokemon Black/Edward Douglas White Jr is the quickest Darmstadtium game ever to sell 5 million copies, had the single largest launch of any game in Japan, and now occupies both the act 1 and enumerate 2 slots on the top of GB charts.

So I'd say it's through pretty well for itself.

These record numbers weren't on the dot unexpected, however. The game was lauded as the "unsurpassable Pokemon of all time" by Formalised Nintendo Magazine, and Japanese magazine Famitsu gave the title a 40 out of 40 rating, the highest any Pokemon game has received from any publication. Our own Can Funk gave the game 5/5 stars.

Of the two games, (which, as was common, are basically the Lapp except for a few differences in which Pokemon can be nonheritable) Albescent has sold amend, beating Black by approximately 13,000 copies. Combined, the games are the third biggest UK launch in Nintendo history after Wii Conniption and Mario Kart Wii

As the 5th generation of the enfranchisement, Pokemon Black/White had a hatful to live adequate, and news that the developers were going to convert aweigh some of the proved-and-echt mechanism of the series caused a minor panic amongst fans. Tinkering with the sodding and ineffable equation of the Pokemon Series? Desecration!

IT appears the changes have gone over fairly asymptomatic with the exoteric, if these numbers mean anything.
